1. What popular car manufacturer is conducting a second recall on a different one of its models? How many vehicles would this effect? What vehicle is it that they are concerned with? What is the problem that they are having to fix?
2. Check out the Sports Section. What 3 Mountain West teams are ranked in the NCAA Basketball polls? What are these team's records? Has New Mexico's standing changed in the polls? Who are these polls put out by? How do they arrive at a team's ranking?
3. Pretend you just discovered the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Call a press conference to give you story to the reporters. Remember it is important to have all of the answers. Write down and prepare an outline for your speech. Don't forget the 5 W's and H.
4. Find the index in your Journal. Write the answers to the following questions. Are there any sections that have something to do with a game? Name the game or games. In what section and on what page will you find the comics? What section will tell you about the stock market? What section tells about jobs that need to be filled? Name the section. What section gives an opinion on the news? What section tells us about the deceased?
